Hi juliet, you asked
for custom autos in your e-mail, so...... owner/builder-phil
webb, leigh-on-sea, essex. darkside member. purchased new
1-8-99, my mate nicknamed it the bat-bike from the start
& i just ran with the idea! with a background in customising
cars (hence my nickname - 'custom') i soon started modifying!
all the painted bolts are now polished stainless-i prefer
custom detailing to flashy paint (...maybe when funds allow)
wheels are powdercoated/polished, switchgear/transmission
cover/handlebar tops are stripped & polished, cruiser
headlight/led sidelights-homemade mounts, re-trimmed seat
by l&n products, homemade floorplates (chromed),pm tuning
exhaust (polished),chrome shock-tops are ford fiesta tailpipe
trims, mural on front panel by jeff stroud, aftermarket grips/mirrors,
chromed/engraved kickstart/brake levers (karl russell/don
blocksidge), March 07-50cc 2 stroke engine replaced with
125 4 stroke italjet torpedo lump!-not an easy swap-lots
of frame mods/cutting/welding+wiring+the 4 stroke parts-all
done by progress classic scooters (thanks paul!) April 08..leds
in recess under side quarter panels, also working on a modified
mini-moto cruiser backrest with chrome bat-symbol on the
back & a re-covered dual seat. things you may not notice..habana
retro clear indicator lenses with the orange inner lenses
removed & orange bulbs added, sidelight bracket shaped
to hide the cutout for the headlight bracket & also
hide the back of the leds, stainless bolts have had the grade
marks sanded smooth & polished, fork link cover bolts
are domed stainless to match the mudguard ones. sometimes
people only notice how many modifications there are when
its parked next to a standard one-so if you are at a show/rideout
or rally come & have a look-i dont bite, good luck with
the site-it looks great, cheers, phil.
