cutting
up the frame started as a dare from a friend. i removed
the pannels and modded some vba pannels. this was no easy
job as i had to make new inner panels. the old engine mounts
wer cut off and a new mount was made, and fitted further
up and back to give it its low stance. the back of the frame
was cut and widend to get the back as wide and smooth as
poss. the back light is of a 59 caddy frenched in to the
rear. tye offcut from the light mount was then used on the
front mudguard which is froma 1958 vespa to make the light
mount which is a kitchen down light! the tool box is from
a bajaj they do have some uses. this was welded to the frame
and then plates were made so it flows in to the line of
the frame as you can se the floor is cut and welded aroundthe
leg shields to give a nicer shape.the frame has been deseamed
and all unwanted holes welded up.the front forks use the
original leg with one of my hub conversions, and a very shortend
shock and yes ride, handling and brakes are very good! the
bars are lamy ld with a much modded mountain bike stem all
cables arewhite and nylon lined.it is fitted with a cd/dvd/tv/
radio in the tool box lid with a mount made from mdf and
molded in there is a rear view camera in the back that gives
a picture of whats going on behind ona screen up front.the
seat is hand made and covered in green metal flake by a
hull company. the engine is t5 that i stripped had bead
blasted and painted to match the body colour, which is candy
apple green.it has a standard t5 top end but it was ported
along with the cases to make it go. the exhaust was made
with the u bend reverse end can to sound different and give
more top end revs. it runs a 22 tooth cosa cluch and sits
easily at 70 all day long. and yes this bike is used almost
every day. the floor runners are from a lamy model d. all
the work was done by me except the final filling and paint
that was done by kb paint shop in hull. cheers ken. and
all chrome and pollishing done by quality chrome in hull.
cheers carl.
